OUR MISSION
Here at the Christopher J. Werner Memorial Scholarship Fund, we are driven by a single goal; to do our part in making the world a better place for all. C.J’s perspective in life was to help others and had wanted to do this by giving back. We want to carry on his wishes by finding ways to continue his dream.
This non-profit is focused on doing this by providing educational scholarships to deserving students and assisting them in helping them reach their goals of attending college. We are also looking for other ways to reach out to others and look forward to exploring the possibilities of making this happen for other children.
We are excited about this journey and strive to build productive relationships and make a positive impact with all of our pursuits. Come Join us!
The Full Story
ABOUT C.J. WERNER
The Christopher J. Werner Memorial Scholarship Fund was established through the generosity of the many people C.J. touched in his short, but full life. C.J. was a 24-year-old Pre-Med student at Baylor University when he passed away from Pneumonia on Sept. 1, 2015. He had battled medical conditions over the latter part of his life, which strengthened his resolve to one day become a doctor and help others. His dealing with this adversity on a daily basis, emboldened him to be fully engaged with life and not take things for granted. C.J. set the example of the passion and sincerity we should bring to each day.

He was an individual with vision, commitment, abiding hope, aspirations, and compassion. And when we look back, it was a life, albeit a glimpse of life, by which people can be measured and judged by. As C.J. often said “It will be glorious” which was a great mantra for his life.
C.J. had a great love for golf and experienced it joyfully with many friends and family. So, what better way to remember him. Our main fundraiser is the golf tournament and it has provided a time for us to share in the fellowship of one another and also do something good for others as he would have wished.
OUR VISION
C.J. was a 2009 SCS graduate and we are currently providing (2) $1500 Memorial Scholarships to graduating Seniors at Southwest Christian School in Fort Worth on an annual basis. This year we will be adding a $1500 Community Impact Scholarship that SCS Juniors and Seniors can apply for to recognize their leadership and giving back to the community.
Since 2016 we have given out 20 scholarships for a total of $30,500. We also sponsored in 2021, a young golfer at First Tee with a $500 scholarship and look to find other educational opportunities for other scholarships in the future.
We appreciate everyone’s generosity in helping us pay this forward for C.J. and faithfully look ahead to where the journey will take us.
